Picking up women isn’t exactly rocket science – any guy can learn how to do it well if they just put in some effort and develop their game. However, it’s important to know what you need to work on and what is holding you back.

Your game can be broken down into 3 main categories:

1. Your mindset (or your inner game).

2. Your lines and social skills. Knowing what to say and how to react in different situations.

3. Your appearance. As much as we don’t like to admit it – society (and women especially) still judge men on their physical appearances.

No matter where you’re at right now, all three of these things can be improved to the point where you’re pulling girls left and right. Let’s break them down a little bit more.

How important is your mindset when picking up women?

Very. In fact, I would say that at least 80% of approaching and meeting women is in your head. Lots of guys who’re starting out or who have poor success rates with women tend to put a negative spin on everything. If you think you’re going to fail, then you know what? You will fail, plain and simple.

In a nutshell, you don’t need to have a giant ego around girls or anything like that. But, in your head you need to at least be focused on positive outcomes. You need to expect that good things will happen when you go out and meet women. It sounds cheesy, but you need to expect that good things will come from the woman you’re talking to, good things will come from the people around you and that good things will come from you.

If you’re thinking “Man, that chick is just too hot for me. No way will she ever give me her number.” then you’re doing it wrong. Wayne Gretzky said “You miss 100% percent of the shots you don’t take” and that’s true in sports and with women.

So instead of focusing on negative outcomes when you go out to pick up women, be positive and expect positive results. Now, I know that even if you have the best games and lines in the world, you’re not going to pickup chicks with a 100% success rate. That’s reality and that’s fine. However, you gotta have it in your head that even if a lady shuts you down, then you’ll be fine with it.

Drill this into your head right now: even if a girl rejects you, you’ll deal with it like it’s nothing at all.You’ll learn from the situation and use it to do better with the next woman you meet.

The Best Lines for Picking Up Women

There’s lots of stigma against guys who used canned and rehearsed lines to meet women – and I’m not quite sure why. It’s true that you want to sound natural and spontaneous when you’re talking to girls, but in lots of cases it’s totally okay to use a well-practiced line to just break the ice.

When you’re just starting to improve your game, there are 3 simple pickup lines that are good to get your feet wet. They also have pretty good success rates

Here’s the first one:

1. Find a girl who looks bored or isn’t preoccupied with someone or something. Women that are rushing to work, lunch or the store aren’t the easiest to approach sometimes. Look for a lady who might be waiting for a friend or just killing time.

2. Go up to her, make eye contact and drop this line: “Hey, you’re pretty cute and I had to come over and meet. I’m in a big rush, but I’d love it if I could have a chat with you sometime. What’s your number?”

3. Get her number and call her in a day or so.

This is my favorite line to teach beginners because it works and requires very little effort or risk on your part. Why is it so good?

First, you complement the girl by saying “you’re cute.” Women love complements and it’ll get her attention. It’s also a pretty neutral thing to say and isn’t creepy or cheesy.

Second, you let her know that you’re interested in meeting her. You put your intentions right out there and will find out right away if she’s interested or curious. You won’t waste your time or hers.

Third, you ask her number and get out of the pickup situation fast. By letting her know that you’re busy, you’re avoiding what could be boring small talk.

These three reasons are why this pickup line is one of the greatest and easiest for guys to learn. And it really is effective! Even if you don’t get her number, if you practice this line a couple of times a week, it’ll help boost your confidence so that you can try more difficult lines on hotter women.

Situational Pickup Lines

Now, this beginner line is just one of my favorites. As great as pickup phrases can be, the real fun and profit comes when you start to develop “situational techniques”, which should be the ultimate goal of any guy who wants to really learn how to pick up women.

Very. Or not at all. It depends on how you look at it.

While most women love to gawk at fit, built and handsome men, the reality is they’ll happily date an average-looking guy as long as he’s got it together.

Let’s break this down a bit:

You don’t need to look like a model, but there are a couple of things you gotta keep in mind if you want to improve your attractiveness.

First, be clean. Lots of guys don’t need to hear this, but just shaving and getting a proper hair cut will help you out tons. If you go out looking like you just rolled out of bed, then the ladies will think of you that way.

Second, pay attention to how you dress. Still wearing Metallica t-shirts and sagging, baggy jeans? That’s cool if you’re in high-school, but if you want to attract classy and gorgeous women you’ve got to step it up a bit.

An easy way to fix this is to simply buy clothes that fit well. Here’s an article that explains is much better than I ever could (it about business wear, but the same guidelines apply to casual clothes). You don’t need to invest thousands of dollars in designer clothes, but pay attention to the guys that are around the women you want to pickup the next time you go out. Chances are they’re wearing dark jeans aren’t stupid-baggy and either polos or dress shirts that don’t fit like balloons.

All set with mindset, lines and your dress?

Great, let’s look at a few other points to help you get some numbers ASAP

First, always make eye contact when you approach a girl. As tempting as it is, don’t glance down her shirt or at her legs — keep your eyes on hers. Eye contact shows her that you have confidence and are mature. Most women know that if a guy is too busy checking out her body, then he’s only interested in one thing (and is a failed PUA! Regardless of your intentions, eye contact forms the first bond that will help you pick up women successfully.

Second, don’t pile on the free drinks and cheesy compliments! Guys with good game know that women need to earn these “rewards.” If you keep complimenting her and buying her stuff, then she’ll catch on quick and just use you for free goodies all night long.

Third, if she’s in a group of other girls, then only focus on her! You’re trying to pick up one girl, and if you spend too much time checking out and talking with her friends, then she’ll understand that you’re just trying to pull. Obviously you want to be polite and acknowledge her friends when they’re talking, but avoid giving them too much attention. When women are in a group, you need to pick your mark before you even approach them.

Forth, read her body language and know when to let her go. Picking up women isn’t always going to work — and you need to know when your tactics aren’t working and it’s time to move on to “greener pastures.” If she starts to get irritated with you or things are going nowhere, then politely excuse yourself and move on to the next chick before things go worse.

Finally, lots of guys seem to think that nightclubs and bars are the only places to learn how to pick up women and girls.

These places can be great for finding cheap one-night stands, but if you’re interested in more than that you’ll have to branch out. The loud environments of bars and clubs can make it downright impossible to have a decent conversation, plus you’ll be competing with tons of other guys. Coffee shops, stores, libraries and other places can all have gorgeous women too. Once you develop your game, you’ll notice that it’s easy to apply it to all different situations with decent success rates.

Do you find yourself saying stuff like “yeah…um,” “it’s like…,” and “so ahhh…” in your daily speech? Make a 2 minute recording of yourself speaking and listen back for those language ticks. Next, redo the recording, but drop all of the extraneous ticks. Which one sounds more confident to you? Girls are impressed by guys who have confident speech patterns.

3. Look people in the eyes.

There’s nothing creepy about looking people in the eyes when you speak with them. It shows confidence and lets the other person know that you’re really present. Make an effort to maintain and hold eye contact with people every day while you’re speaking and within a few weeks you’ll feel much more confident.

Other Alpha Male Trait

In addition to confidence, most alpha males have a few other common traits such as leadership, social status and security.

Leadership often goes hand in hand with confidence, but the easiest way to be a better leader when you’re out talking to girls is to be a chooser, not a suggester. For example, instead of asking a chick “Where would you like to go for drinks?”, say something affirmative like “Let’s go here,” “Let’s do this,”. • Tease her. This might piss some chicks off, or she could think you’re immature. But depending on the circumstances and the girl, it can be a great tool.

Third, show her you’re a gentleman. Chivalry is a bit of a lost art these days. Simple things like holding the door for her, opening a car or taxi door, taking her coat and walking her home can have a big effect.

Forth, complement her. Women spend lots of time making themselves look good and love it when a man notices. A simple “oh, you look good today.” can go a long way.

Lots of guys think that personal grooming and dress are in the realm of “girly-men” and metrosexuals, but that’s nonsense. Every guy needs to spend a bit of time in the morning making himself look good. The ladies will notice and you’ll stand out from the pack.

Be fit. You don’t have to be ripped, but you need to be healthy and exercise regularly. It makes you more interesting (see above) and makes you feel better about yourself. Girls love guys who are active and take care of their bodies. It’s attractive and going running together is a good way to get the blood pumping .
