How to Impress a Girl
Lots of men have trouble figuring out how to impress a girl.

Do cheesy pickup lines really work? Do chicks really care that you have ripped arms? Different types of women are impressed by different things, but here are some general tips that should get you started on the right track — no matter what her personality type is!
1. Be clean
It sounds silly, but the first step towards impressing women is to make sure that you look decent. You don’t have to be a nancy-boy or fashion-obsessed, but if you’re going out to pickup women, then you need to do some basic grooming. For starters, take a shower, shave, get a clean haircut and put on some clean clothes. A clean shave and a tight haircut are pretty subjective, but the majority of chicks prefer these looks.
2. Be Polite
Some girls like douchebags, but unless you’re cruising for bar trash, you’ve got to drop the attitude. If you’re on a date, then pull of the old-fashioned chivalry; hold the door for her, take her coat and help her sit down at the table. Chances are you’ll be her first date in a while that put the extra effort in and it’ll impress her and help make the evening more memorable.
3. Be Interesting
Ever see a nerdy guy with a hot chick and wonder how he scored her? The truth is that girls don’t care if you play “Magic the Gathering” or “World of Warcraft” in your free time. They’re much more interested in guys that are passionate about their lives and have a general zest for living. So go ahead and embrace your inner nerdiness: just talk about it like it’s the coolest thing around and no one will hold it against you.
4. Be Interested
This goes along with being polite, but lots of guys think that pickup lines will do all the work for them. Whenever you’re talking to a woman, make an effort to follow what she’s saying and look her in the eyes. If you act like you don’t care, then you won’t impress her and will almost certainly go home alone.
5. Be a leader
Women are impressed by confidence. Think about your speech patterns for a minute: do you often find yourself saying “Uh…I dunno, what do you want to do?” or “What are you drinking? I’ll have that.” then you’re in trouble. Recognize the problem and be a decision maker, not a follower or indecisive loser. Chicks dig men who are leaders. Be one.

This point can’t be stressed enough! Some girls are into partying, some want a nice sweet guy others are just drama queens and crazies. However, women can be broken down into some general themes. And one thing that almost all women like is a man that displays alpha male characteristics.
What’s an alpha male? Everyone will give you a different definition, but think of people at the most basic level for a minute. Girls want protection. They want someone who is dependable, caring and capable of providing for a family. From these needs, we can draw out some of the most basic characteristics that will impress girls:
Self Confidence
When a man is sure of himself, it’s one of the most impressive things to a woman. Some guys are born with natural confidence, while others need to work on it. You should be radiating confidence in everything you do: how you speak, how you walk and how you act.
If you think you’re lacking, then pay attention to these 3 things for a few days:
1. Stand and sit up straight all the time.
Learn to be conscious of your posture, whether you’re sitting in the office, driving or walking down the street. Get rid of that slouchy posture and stop staring at the floor!
2. Find out what your speech patterns are like.
Do you find yourself saying stuff like “yeah…um,” “it’s like…,” and “so ahhh…” in your daily speech? Make a 2 minute recording of yourself speaking and listen back for those language ticks. Next, redo the recording, but drop all of the extraneous ticks. Which one sounds more confident to you? Girls are impressed by guys who have confident speech patterns.
3. Look people in the eyes.
There’s nothing creepy about looking people in the eyes when you speak with them. It shows confidence and lets the other person know that you’re really present. Make an effort to maintain and hold eye contact with people every day while you’re speaking and within a few weeks you’ll feel much more confident.
Other Alpha Male Trait
In addition to confidence, most alpha males have a few other common traits such as leadership, social status and security.
Leadership often goes hand in hand with confidence, but the easiest way to be a better leader when you’re out talking to girls is to be a chooser, not a suggester. For example, instead of asking a chick “Where would you like to go for drinks?”, say something affirmative like “Let’s go here,” “Let’s do this,”. She’ll let you know if she’s not interested in whatever you suggested, but make it a habit to start with suggestions, rather than asking questions. This approach can be applied to your business and private lives as well.
Social status is something that we often misunderstand. It doesn’t mean that you need to be from some snoby prep-school, Ivy league background! Women are impressed by guys that have friends, that are respected in their circles and who are a part of a community. She wants to feel like her guy is the best at what he does and has a high position in the world. If you don’t have much of a social life, then it’s time to start building one because it’ll help you tons with impressing and meeting girls.
Security is important for impressing women who have been out of school for a few years and may be looking to settle down soonish. Security is how much you protect and care for her. Do you comfort her when she’s upset? Do you stand up for her in arguments? Do you offer her your coat on a cold walk home? Security can also be things like your employment situation and finances, but for learning how to impress girls, it’s a bit more important to work on things that directly affect her when you’re out on the town.
